Media Training
Why Media Training?
· The most compelling message can get lost among verbal and non verbal “tics” that remove the focus from the message
· Different mediums require different preparation – preparing for television is very different than preparing for a radio interview
· In a world where there are literally thousands of outlets (internet, social networks, email) pulling for an individuals attention, 95% of all messages get lost – skilled media training can prevent that
· You must be able to communicate your message in a manner that anyone and everyone can understand. If you communicate too many things (either verbally or non-verbally) you say nothing.
· Poll after poll after poll shows that it takes the average political candidate at least 1000 GRP (gross rating points) to break through the din and get remembered – what are your chances of catching the audience’s attention in one or two appearances?
· Whether your goal is to get elected, introduce a new product into the marketplace successfully, obtain funding, corporate restructuring or taking your company public, if you can’t communicate your message effectively, you will not succeed.
· The real question is what is the value of success vs. the cost of failure?
Why Princeton Public Speaking Media Training?
Our approach is different than the rest.
We do not believe in traditional training approaches – there is no “one size fits all” /cookie cutter game plan
If you can master your profession by studying a manual, book, website or a few memos, our training is probably not for you. If you have invested time, effort, and energy in your profession, and want your communications skills to reflect that, we are a perfect fit.
Our focus is entirely on authenticity – one term that is bandied about regularly to refer to someone speaking out in times of crisis is “over coached” – that is because the person says and does (non verbal cues) the same things as EVERYONE else in that position. Our approach runs completely counter to that.
Every person has intangible gifts and talents that can be accessed to become a more effective communicator; at the same time every individual has communication traits that can be improved
Our focus is developing a unique, comfortable, authentic style that accentuates a client’s strengths, mitigate weaknesses, and allows the client to deliver his or her message effectively, articulately and memorably during appearance in front of the media.
Our training is 100% confidential and entirely individualized - always one on one for maximum effectiveness.
